Healthcare Innovation Lab Convenes to Champion Caregiver Well-being

The healthcare landscape in the United States is facing a critical juncture, as the industry grapples with soaring rates of caregiver stress, burnout, moral injury, and suicide. Coupled with chronic staffing shortages and the escalating cost of care, it is evident that a transformative approach is urgently needed to address this crisis.

In a bold step towards fostering a culture of caregiver well-being, Springboard Labs, in partnership with Bentley University's Center for Health and Business, hosted the inaugural Healthcare Innovation Lab on November 10th and 11th. This groundbreaking initiative brought together a select group of healthcare leaders who have spearheaded successful caregiver well-being programs within their respective systems.

Springboard Labs President Dr. Tom Bigda-Peyton facilitated the Corporate Learning Week (CLW) Academy, a comprehensive certificate program that provides learning and development professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to run learning initiatives effectively like a business.  The CLW Academy is open to learning and development professionals of all levels of experience, and covers key concepts such as: 

• Running Learning Like a Business 
• Demonstrating Value to the C-Suite
• Creating Impactful Learning Experiences 

Participants in the academy had access to a wealth of resources including: case studies,  analysis tools, end-to-end learning experience design examples, interactive exercises, networking opportunities with participants, and access to Corporate Learning Network resources. They also had the chance to attend the opening keynote sessions of the Corporate Learning Week conference and earn a certificate of completion.

The podcast show notes state:  "Dr. Tom Bigda-Peyton is Co-founder and Executive Director of Springboard Labs, a social venture organization founded in 2023 to transform corporate learning and organizational development. Dr. Bigda-Peyton is also a Senior Advisor on Organizational Development and Learning at the Center for Performance Excellence, Catholic Health. 

He joined Catholic Health in 2015 as Chief Learning Officer and VP, of Organizational Development. Prior to that, Tom led several major change initiatives, including the Ontario Health Transformation Learning Partnership, the Safety Across High-Consequence Industries Conference, and the Innovation Expedition in Healthcare. 

Tom has led several consulting practices and currently serves as a co-facilitator of Learning industry roundtables, cross-industry learning labs, and virtual learning labs for executives.
